re: getting readers... I do lots of visiting!! meme's are usually a great way to start, prizes and just trying to pick something you love and blog lots about it (ie.. i do WFW and for me that's my post I won't miss).. try joining blog rolls... if it helps I usually check my fav. blogs and see what links and feeds they have going on their site!
