Pinterest and 'Stache' love!

I know, I know, I'm so sorry for not writing the last few days. I've been preoccupied... preoccupied with Pinterest!!  Yep, you heard me correctly, I said Pinterest.  LOL!!

The last two days I have been pinning my little heart out, and have found some really cool things too. From makeup ideas and clothing that I love, to recipes and craft projects to do with my little man.

Here are a few of the GREAT things I found while on Pinterest:
"Bubble Prints"  - this blog had some really neat kiddo projects.

Next was: Chocolate Candy Cane Cookies
These just looked SO good and I am a sucker for anything Candy Cane or Peppermint.
I can not wait to try these out!

and FINALLY.....  All things Mustache!!!
I L♥VE the 'Stache'!
They are just so much stinkin' fun!

In fact... Here I am, in ALL my 'Stache' glory!

Love, did right by THIS Dress!

One of my Favorite movies, that I can watch ANY Time of year is the movie "White Christmas"!
I know every word to every song and most of the lines to every scene.

But my ABSOLUTE Favorite thing about this movie isn't Just the Music... but The CLOTHES!!

If I were blessed with the gift of sewing & making clothes, the one item on the top of my "TO MAKE" List from this movie, would be the dress Rosemary Clooney wore while singing,
♫ "Love, You Didn't Do Right By Me"♫

Isn't this Fantastic?  Oh My Stars!!!  I hope I get one of these in heaven!
I have drooled over & dreamed about this dress for as long as I can remember.

Don't even get me STARTED on the Bedazzled Red Satin Santa Dress on the Cover!!
I'll save THAT for another post!!

Enjoy & Drool Away...

vintage love... empty pocketbook

I've never been one to care if I were rich or not, but I must say, from time to time I wish I were one of those few who were blessed with a good size pocketbook!   To have the ability to afford to get my hands on vintage & vintage looking lovey's like these!

From Anthropologie:

All over $200.  **sigh**
Next...
I want a Retro kitchen SO bad that I can taste it!  One day when the Lord Jesus blesses us with the ability to build our Victorian Dream House, way out in the country, THESE Robin Egg Retro appliances will be apart of my kitchen!!  **Hey, a girl can Dream!**   Aren't these Flippin' Fantastic!

They EVEN have a microwave, y'all!!!  Oh My Stars...   (Elmira Stone Works & Big Chill)

If ya can't tell, I have a Love for the 40's, 50's and 60's!   If we had the ability to travel back in time, I'd go back to the 40's & 50's.  I love the clothes, the hairstyle, the furniture, the music, the cars and the appliances! :)  I told you, I have a love & near obsession with that time period!

Okay, just a few more Fabulous things that I would totally splurge on if I had the pocketbook...
Isn't this jacket Fantastic!!

That's all for now... I'll have to share more vintage lovey's with you soon, so be sure to come back!

today's tidbit

I am exhausted, it's late and I don't have any time to write tonight. But to make SURE that I hold to my commitment for November Blog Fest,... here's my little tidbit for today:

After dinner tonight, I baked a new fresh batch of  'Amish Friendship Bread'.  The house smells like cinnamon and I can't wait to have a slice w/ my hot Chai Tea tomorrow! Yumm!!

So long Day 3...

A Jesus Adventure...

Oh how I am longing for a Jesus Adventure!  One that goes beyond the 4 walls of the church and most importantly, one that goes beyond the 4 walls of my house.  I want a real life adventure.  There is a yearning within that I just can't explain.

It's odd really, because I've never been the type of person who was ever interested in being a missionary. In fact, I remember distinctly one Sunday morning when I was young, while listening to a missionary from Africa speak, thinking & silently praying "Lord, please don't ever call me to be a missionary to live in another country away from my home." Just the thought of it made me queasy.   Oh, how the Lord Jesus changes your heart towards such things.

For the last 2 years, the Lord has done a number on me.  Do I feel called to be a long term missionary in another country, No.  However, do I feel the call to go do mission work in another country, Yes!!
My best friend, Erin and I, have had our hearts set afire for a few specific places...India and Cambodia to just name a few.  We attended the "Ignite 2009" Christian Music Festival, in th spring of 2009 and while there, we were introduced to a ministry that told the story of a 12 year old girl who was a victim of child slavery (sex trafficking), sold by her parents to a brothel to bring in money for the family income.  This ministry had rescued her out of this brothel and put her in a 'Healing House', where they minster to girls like her, help them to heal & trust again, teach them a trade and most importantly teach these girls about the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I remember sitting in tears, in shock and in horror as we heard the story of this little girl and MANY other little girls who have been & are being sold into sex trafficking by there families.  I'd never heard of anything so horrible before. I had NO idea that anything like this was even going on out there in the world. Where had I been?  This hit me like a ton of bricks and I wanted to hop on a plane right then and there and go fight & rescue those little girls myself.    A bonfire was lit inside of me that very moment and I was bound and determined to get my arms around those little girls one day.  And so, at that very moment, the Lord Jesus grabbed hold of my heart & my selfish desires and whispered to me... I have a plan for you.  And it's been ever since, that I've been trying to find a way to get to both India & Cambodia.

Erin, my best friend, left a little over a week ago for India and she will be there for the next year doing mission work with a church. I am so excited for her. The more stories & pictures I see of the work she is doing already has re-lit that fire within me. Timing for me hasn't worked out for me to leave and do mission work, but I know that it's not my timing, but God's timing... His timing is PERFECT!  So perfect that, I am currently working on raising funds to go to India in July!  I have a time frame that is working out and I am ready...  Looks like we're gearing up to have a Jesus Adventure after all, and I couldn't be more excited!!!

A glimpse into some of the mission work I can't wait to get my arms around!!

November Blog Fest

As this courser flashes at me on this empty page, I find myself at a loss for words... at a loss for anything interesting to say...and then, all of a sudden... my mind goes... Blank.
However, THAT is something I am ready to change... I want to take this as a challenge and face it head on and Win.  It's time to kick start the creativity and find my thoughts and my voice once again.  It's time to to start blogging, again.
So, how am I going to face this challenge?  How do I intend on taking the bull by the horns, You may ask?  Well,... I've decided to participate in the November Blog Fest.
Which means, I commit to blogging everyday in the month of November.  I was inspired by Lindsee_Lou, and decided to join her & other bloggers on this quest to find our voice again out here in the blog-o-sphere!
I am a day behind, due to only just finding out about this creative challenge a few minutes ago, so you may be graced with TWO posts from me today.  We shall see! It depends on how long the little man naps for me today. LOL!
Hope you all join me on this journey and keep me spurred on with comments. It helps to know that someone is listening/reading and that I'm not just talking to dead air. Oh and  your creative ideas for things to write about are greatly welcomed.  I may need a little help here in the beginning!

So, HERE... WE... GO!!!
