Mother's Day Activities

We were soooo busy this past week ..... First, yesterday was Mother's Day! It was a GREAT mother's day. Hubby surprised me with a "Cricut Expression". For those of you who don't know what a Cricut is, it is a cutting machine for Scrapbooking.

I have been wanting one for a while now and he surprised me with one! WOOOHOO!!! Now I can cut & scrapbook till my little heart is content, now if I can only create more time in a day to do that! Well if I miraculously do, at least I now have to tools! :D I also got to have Japanese Food for Mother's Day lunch (thank you Regina) which is MY ALL TIME FAVORITE Food in the world! Yummmmmmmm!!!

Saturday we went to Scarborough Faire, it is a Renaissance Festival in Waxahachie.

If you've never been, you MUST go! It takes you back in time to the Renaissance time with fabulous costumes, castles, handcrafted period booths, shows of all kinds, swords, period music, food, King & Queen, and of course a Joust competition. Needless to say we had an absolute BLAST and even Japheth loved seeing all the action.

Thursday was the Talent show at hubby's school... Grease My Hairspray. It was 50's-60's themed, with large 8 feet hairspray cans, 4 foot records as the stage decoration. Each act was suppose to be period themed, but the kiddos didn't do ANYTHING 50's-60's themed in the performances...Sooo that didn't really work so well, but is was a great idea. And the acts that were performed were GREAT! Especially Rihanna's song... FABULOUS... that girl can sing! Actually she brought me to tears. It's hard to do that!

Tuesday was student days at
Scarborough Faire and hubby took the Theatre 2 class and they competed in the Shakespeare Drama Competition on the Crown Stage, they did a scene from Julius Caesar and they received 2nd place!

WOOHOO!! They got a cool trophy! They did an awesome job!!

So needless to say it was a CRAZY BUSY WEEK - but it was a FUN REWARDING WEEK! Ahhhhh....
And next in our adventure we call life is the end of school for hubby, summertime and The Promise. It is approaching quickly.... and We can't wait!

Get used to weeks like that, most of mine are these days. I have more filled days in my calendar than empty. Just wait til Japheth gets old enough to be involved with things in and around school...
