And what does that mean when Papa comes down? It means being taken out to lunch, seeing "Blue" his dog and doing FUN OUTDOORSY Things!
And my son LOVES being outside. Once he's out, the only way to get him back in, is to say it's Bath~time. He loves the water as much as he loves outside.
So first on the list of day with Papa, was lunch.
Did you know that THIS looks like "Bob the Tomato", from the Veggie Tales, to a 2 year old?
From the time we pulled into the parking lot to the time we walked in the doors, he kept saying, "Momma Bob Tomato"~ as he stretched his neck up as high as he could to get a better look at it on top of the restaurant entry way. It was so cute!
After lunch, was play time with Papa's dog, Blue. That boy loved throwing the ball and seeing Blue chase after it. And then Little Man would end up chasing right after Blue. That took up a good hour of time. That boy can P-L-A-Y!
Side note: Blue is a blue healer/cow dog. Just in case you were curious about the name. :D
Then came the REALLY FUN STUFF. The stuff 2yr old dreams are made of....
Going to the lake and playing in the water. Ice cold water, but water non-the-less.

The wind was blowing and the waves were rolling in on the beach area. Little Man has never seen waves before, so he let out a squeal of delight and we took off towards the shore. We only waded to our feet, but that was enough to completely cover his feet & his ankles and it gave him full on access to the water coming in. Let me just say, Whooo it was COLD!! It was only 77 degrees here today and that water was chilly, but Little Man didn't care one bit. He played with his water toy in that water for a good 20 minutes or more. And ended up falling into the water twice. Clothes soaked & diaper full of lake water.
We had the beach all to ourselves. It was just Papa, Little Man, Me and Blue. Oh and a few ducks that would swim up every now & then to check us out. It was so nice and the waves (though lake waves) still crashed up onto the sand and it sounded like we were at the ocean. If you closed your eyes, you wouldn't have ever known you were on the shore of a lake. AWWW!
Finally, it was time to go. Little Man did very well leaving the water. I was surprised. I told him to tell the water bye-bye and the ducks bye-bye, because it was time to go. He stood up, waved out towards the lake and said, "Bye-bye wawah, Bye-bye quack-quack" and off we went back to the car and then back to the house.
Little Man had soo much fun with Papa (my dad by the way) and Blue today! :D
It was a GREAT day! One that you wish you could capture in a jar, so you could do it all over again later.

Welcome to Company Girl Coffee! What a great "first" post to get to know you. You're right...that was a Dream Day for a 2 year old! I could just picture him playing in the water, brrr.
I love those days that you want to capture forever. Oh, if you could only always remember their cute little sayings and their funny ways! I treasure those times.
I see you are somewhere in Texas...Thursday WAS beautiful, but the wretched c-c-cold front moved in today and it is downright freezing out there! I just turned the heat on in the house, I'm such a baby.
I look forward to more visits, and hope you make some friends through the coffee/comments! We have the best girls ever around here :)
Sounds like a wonderful day....been a long time since I had a day that I wanted to capture in a jar....hold onto the memories!
Welcome! Glad you could join us for coffee! I have a two year old also. He is my youngest of five children. I just love to watch him play and learn. Just this morning I sat in amazement as he worked and struggled to get his pants on all by himself. That little guy did it though, and we celebrated! :)
Thanks for inviting us over. I really enjoyed your post. I hope you link up again. :)
Have a great weekend!

That's exciting that you had such a wonderful day with your son. :) It's sounds like he is quite the personality!!
By the way, I'm reading Company Girls just a little bit late this week, hehe. :)
