How can you convince a toddler or/ discipline a toddler to KEEP that toddler from throwing/pushing the plate of food over the side of the tray of the high chair??
I am about to have a nervous breakdown! This is something that he keeps doing and I can't get him to stop. I am at my wits end here continuing to pick up plates of food that have splattered all over the kitchen floor, not to mention in trying to figure out what I need or can do to solve this problem. Please help!

Hey girl you may want to try to use the plates that have suction cups on them so they will stick to the tray or just put small amts on a scot towel so if he still throw it off I will not make that much of a mess. If you give my a firm smack on the hand does that do anything??

Hollie,
We got a bowl that had a big suction cup on the bottom of it, so it stayed in place. Either that, or we'd just put the food directly onto the highchair tray (so there was no plate to throw). Of course, you have to keep the tray really clean if you do that:-)

Babywise II : a whole chapter on highchair manners and how to do them!
Be watchful and catch them before the crime & remind them if they want to throw their food then they will not have any food right now. Let them out of the high chair until they are ready to eat without throwing the plate. My other suggestion would be to put the food right on the tray. Just some thoughts:)
I'm with ^ her. Take the food away. And try again 5 or 10 minutes later!
